Barentz Europe B.V. strengthens its Central and Eastern European position

Barentz Europe B.V. a Pan European distributor based in The Netherlands, has acquired the minority shares of Barentz Hungary Kft and will from now on be the sole owner of Barentz Hungary Kft.
Barentz Hungary Kft was established in 2003 as a joint venture of Barentz Europe B.V. -the majority share holder- and Scanac holding the remaining shares. Today, November 3rd 2011, Barentz Europe B.V. acquired these remaining shares as well and is now hundred percent owner of Barentz Hungary Kft.

Scanac Company started in Hungary in 2003 as the exclusive agent of Roquette Freres and developed a very healthy and sustainable business in Hungary. Although Hungarian economic decline the Barentz-Scanac joint venture has been able to show sustainable growth and has become an important part of the whole Barentz Group.
Barentz Hungary has a very strong position within the food industry, representing established food ingredient principals like Roquette. Barentz Hungary also represents major principals in the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics industry and Animal nutrition. These markets show a strong growth. The acquisition will help to boost these divisions further and it will be an excellent platform to develop and invest into the Chemical business, as well.
